EXPERT: Tanner Banks
Tanner grew up in Summit County and after nearly a decade in Montana, is once again calling the Blue River Valley home. During his tenure in Montana, he received his degree in Aquatic Ecological Restoration from the University of Montana. After school he spent several years focused on the conservation of native trout species of Western Montana and overseeing terrestrial and aquatic restoration projects. Tanner is a project manager for Trout Unlimited and is actively involved in restoration and reclamation work throughout the region.

EXPERT: Dave Rees
David received a B.S. and M.S. from Colorado State University where he studied fishery biology and ecotoxicology, respectively. He has more than 20 years experience in macroinvertebrate identification, data analysis, and report preparation. He is familiar with EPA protocols and more than 100 indices (metrics) using algae and benthic macroinvertebrates to evaluate aquatic conditions. David has extensive experience working with private entities, state agencies, and federal agencies including the USDA Forest Service, Colorado Division of Wildlife, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Bureau of Reclamation. David has been an author or co-author on more than 75 technical reports and publications. He has project experience in ten western states and conducted benthic macroinvertebrate studies on more than 60 Colorado rivers and streams alone.

EXPERTS: Peggy Baily
Peggy is a Water Resources Engineer, a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado and a Certified Floodplain Manager. She has a diverse range of experience specializing in water resources and aquatic restoration including the award-winning Blue River Restoration in downtown Breckenridge and numerous aquatic habitat enhancement projects for endangered fish species on the Colorado and Green Rivers. Peggy has extensive experience on resilient design and stabilization of heavily impacted rivers from both human disturbance, such as mining, and flood related damage. Peggy lives and works in Summit County, Colorado.
EXPERT: Richard Van Gytenbeek
Richard is a seasoned veteran in watershed management. At Trout Unlimited he is working on the Western Water Project as the Colorado River Basin Outreach Coordinator. From his home in Grand Junction, he travels throughout western Colorado meeting with elected officials, businesses, organizations and individuals about TU’s collaborative efforts with the agricultural community and the importance of healthy rivers to West Slope communities and their economies.
