Support River Cleanups and Water Quality monitoring!

Join BRWG's work as we promote, protect, and restore rivers throughout the Blue River watershed.
The Blue River Watershed Group partners with organizations and companies whose goals align with our mission and values. We believe that through collaboration and partnerships, we can make a lasting and positive impact in our communities. Reaching our shared goals of restoring and protecting the Blue River Watershed, is only possible through cooperative efforts and  community engagement which are core tenets of our organization.  Learn how you can support our work below!

Help BRWG increase baseline and targeted water quality monitoring throughout the County. Our watershed faces a myriad of conditions that affect water quality. Our watershed has 4 major passes, the I-70 corridor including significant hazmat traffic, 5 trans-basin diversions which remove water from the Colorado River Basin and divert it to the Eastern Slope. This includes the expansion of the Montgomery reservoir and the diversion of more water from the upper Blue River to Colorado Springs. We have 4 ski areas, 2 major reservoirs, agriculture, increased development, significant fire risk, as well as historical and current mining impacts. Despite many organizations conducting water quality  monitoring internally, publicly available baseline water quality monitoring is often not prioritized which leads to duplicate efforts,
