Saturday February 10th, 2024
SCOC Ice Fishing

  BRWG, Friends of the Lower Blue,  and Summit County Sustainability (Summit County Outdoor Coalition members) will be hosting an ice fishing day to provide community members with a fun, safe environment to provide feedback about Summit County specific barriers to entry in outdoor recreation. We will discuss ways that the SCOC can help ease the burden on those in our community who wish to participate in outdoor activities but have been historically marginalized, facing greater obstacles to entry into the outdoor recreation community.

Learn how to support inclusion efforts happening in the County to ensure all community members can take part in enjoying, protecting, and restoring our vital watersheds.

Friday February 23rd,  2024  
Swan River Snowshoe

BRWG will be holding a group snowshoe at Tiger Road. This excursion, led by our Advancement Director and Naturalist, Vanessa Logsdon, will be a great way to learn more about BRWG's projects as we walk along the bank of the Swan River through a newly restored section of the river reclaimed from historical dredge mining debris.

Learn a bit about Summit County's mining history, the Swan River ecosystem, and how you can help with this project's completion and others throughout the County.

Snowshoes are not included, but if there is little snow before the hike, winter boots should be adequate and poles are recommended.

Friday March 22nd, 2024
XC sKi at Peru Creek

BRWG will be holding a group XC ski at Peru Creek. This excursion, led by our Advancement Director and Naturalist, Vanessa Logsdon, will be a great way to learn more about BRWG's projects as we head up Peru Creek. We'll chat about the Snake River Watershed Plan and the reclamation of the Silver Spoon, Brittle Silver, and Delaware mines which were restored to reduce the spillage of heavy metals into the Snake River and its tributaries. 

Learn a bit about Summit County's mining history, the Snake River ecosystem, and how you can help with water quality monitoring and similar projects throughout the County.

XC skis are not included so make sure to bring your XC or backcountry ski/snowboard setup and c
ome out for a fun adventure and take part in enjoying, protecting, and restoring our vital watersheds.

Breckenridge Fly Fishing Film Tour

The original and preeminent exhibition of fly fishing cinema, The BreckF3T is a one of a kind experience. Each year fishy folk of all ages gather in big cities and small towns alike to soak up films from around the world, spin a few yarns amongst friends and dream about casts yet unmade.

There will be a spectacular  live raffle during intermission.  Breckenridge Outfitters, Mountain Angler, Cutthroat Anglers, and The Colorado Angler show their support of the local river by donating incredible prizes to this fundraiser. Proceeds go to habitat improvement on the Blue River and offer programming to wounded veterans through Project Healing Waters

Copper Mountain Play Forever

 BRWG is excited to participate in this year's Copper Mountain Play Forever program. BRWG and Copper commit to protect the environment and support our community. This winter, Copper is partnering with BRWG along with other organizations that support our community. 

During the 2023/24 winter season, $99 discounted tickets purchased online, in advance will have a portion of proceeds benefit select Play Forever Thursdays partner organizations.

BRWG's Annual MEmber Party

Blue River Watershed Group is excited to host a party to celebrate our amazing members at The Pad on April 19th. We'll meet up at The Pad at 5:30pm to get together, enjoy drinks, appetizers, and hear some exciting updates on our watershed. Celebrate our members and supporters who share a common goal of protecting and restoring the Blue River. Guests will receive appetizers and a drink ticket.

Summit County State of the River


This May, BRWG will host the 2024 Summit County State of the River presentation at the Silverthorne Pavilion. 

​Presentations will give forecasts of how much water will fill our rivers and reservoirs this summer, how Summit County fits into forecasted shortages facing the larger Colorado River Basin, provide an update on Summit County reservoirs and trans-mountain diversions, and invite you to participate in Blue River planning efforts to assess and sustain this valuable resource and its associated ecosystem. 

Learn about planned water diversion projects in our watershed, ongoing restorations in the county, and how you can get involved.

Saturday June 15th, 2024
Lake Dillon Beer Festival

​Come support the watershed by drinking with us! Taste from 30 breweries at the Dillon Amphitheatre while enjoying a beautiful view of the lake. 

Volunteers receive free admission and a free event t-shirt.  All tickets will include a $5 donation to the Blue River Watershed Group

Admission $40, Non-Drinking Admission $10, Kids 12 & Under are free
