About the Blue River Watershed Group

blue river watershed group: Protecting the Blue river since 2004

The Blue River Watershed Group (BRWG) was founded in 2004 by community members passionate about protecting and preserving the health of the Blue River basin. Our mission is to promote, protect, and restore the Blue River watershed through community education, stewardship, and resource management. We focus on community-led projects backed by research and data throughout the entire watershed. The Blue River drains an area of about 680 square miles covering all of Summit County and portions of Grand and Lake Counties before it joins the Colorado River near Kremmling. Join us in our mission to restore and protect the Blue River, a vital tributary of the Colorado River.
