Maps: Baseline Monitoring
Baseline monitoring metrics provide crucial spatial context for identifying problem areas, visualizing data, and prioritizing conservation efforts within the watershed. Baseline monitoring includes metrics such as salinity, metals, and dissolved oxygen which are monitored regularly to provide context and clarity into long-term trends in the health of our rivers. The map below displays USGS data for flows and temperature, CPW River Watch data on salinity and metals, and other baseline metrics.

Maps: Targeted Monitoring
Targeted monitoring directs limited resources to the most critical locations, allowing for efficient problem identification and the effective implementation of corrective actions. These efforts are useful in case of incidents such as spills from hazardous material vehicles, wildfire and fire response, mine flooding and runoff, and extreme drought which can concentrate contaminants.
